Apologies for absence were received from Councillors Rye and Brett who had withdrawn from the interview process as they knew one of the candidates.  

To elect a Chair for the duration of this meeting, in the absence of the Chair of the Councillor Conduct Committee, Councillor Yasemin Brett. 

Councillor Waterhouse was appointed chair for the meeting. 

Members are asked to declare any disclosable pecuniary, other pecuniary or non pecuniary interests relating to items on the agenda. 

There were no declarations of interest.

To pass a resolution under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 excluding the press and public from the meeting for any items of business moved to part 2 of the agenda on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in those paragraphs of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act (as amended by the Local Government (Access to Information) (Variation) Order 2006).

RESOLVED in accordance with Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 to exclude the press and public from the meeting for the item of business listed on part 2 of the agenda on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of confidential information as defined in Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act (as amended by the Local Government (Access to Information) (Variation) Order 2006).

To interview for the position of independent person at Enfield Council.

Members interviewed two candidates for the position of Independent Person at Enfield Council.

AGREED following the interviews, to recommend to Council that Christine Chamberlain be appointed as an Independent Person at Enfield Council for a term of office ending on 30 June 2014.
