Complaints Against Curriculum Panel

Purpose of committee

The Panel is established under the LEA’s statutory complaints procedure, detailed in the document “Local Arrangements for Consideration of Complaints”.

The arrangements refer to any complaint from a parent against a school maintained by the LEA about curriculum issues at Stage 3 of the LEA’s local arrangements (the kind of complaints covered by the arrangements are defined by the Education Act 1996 (S409)).

Such a complaint will be investigated by the Investigating Officer and then be considered by a Panel of the Chief Complaints Officer and three LEA members.

A complainant who is still dissatisfied after the arrangements have been exhausted will be able to complain to the Secretary of State.
