As part of the Enfield Chase Landscape
Restoration project development phase it is proposed to investigate
opportunities for landscape restoration measures in rural areas of
Enfield across the Salmons Brook and Turkey Brook valleys. This
involves working with land managers in parks and farms to evaluate
the potential for river naturalisation and reconnection of
floodplains, creation of wetlands, and restoration of woodland and
grassland habitats with the ambition to reduce downstream flooding,
improve water quality, create and improve habitats for wildlife and
reconnect people with nature. The project aims to build on existing
projects including Enfield Chase Woodland Creation and Salmons
Brook Natural Flood Management, as well as explore future
opportunities through Defra’s Landscape Recovery
Scheme.
