Issue - meetings

On behalf of the Council, the Mayor will present the past Mayor’s and past Mayor’s Consort badges to Councillor Saray Karakus, Ismet Karakus and Destiny Karakus. 

The Mayor presented the past Mayor’s and Mayor’s Consort badges and certificates recording the Council’s appreciation to the retiring Mayor, Councillor Saray Karakus, and her consorts Ismet and Destiny Karakus. 

The Mayor, on behalf of the Council, thanked them for the work they had undertaken during the 2018/19 municipal year.

The Leader thanked Councillor Karakus for all her incredible hard work over the past year and for the enthusiasm she had bought to the role.  She mentioned the 100 years of volunteering event which she had attended with her recently which had been a fantastic event. 

Councillor Laban echoed the Leader’s thanks saying that Councillor Karakus had been an excellent Mayor.  She had particularly appreciated the independence with which she had chaired the Council meetings and the compassion and energy she had shown bringing the community together.  She hoped that she would continue with this.
