The Mayor of Enfield is the ceremonial figurehead for the Council: the first citizen of the Borough. The Mayor chairs the full Council meeting and acts as an ambassador for Enfield, promoting the borough locally, nationally and internationally.
The Mayor is always a Councillor, elected each year by all the other Councillors at the Annual Council meeting. The Mayor is supported in their work by a deputy, who often becomes the Mayor the following year.
The Mayor of Enfield has many civic and ceremonial responsibilities. The Mayor attends events across the borough and raises money for charity. Annual events include the Mayor's Fun Run and the Mayor's Charity Ball.
Throughout the year the Mayor and Deputy Mayor will attend more than 500 engagements.
If you would like the Mayor or Deputy Mayor to attend your event, please contact the Mayor's Secretary, Koulla Panaretou on 020 8379 4835 or send an email to mayor@enfield.gov.uk. Please allow at least 10 days' notice as we may not be able to guarantee Mayoral attendance.
When your formal request is received we will confirm the Mayor's/Deputy's availability and send you a detailed form to complete.
