SPEAKERS

Minutes:

1. Sam Russell  - LOROL, (London Overground Rail Operations Ltd) outlined the plans for the London Overground and in particular Bush Hill Park station

He explained the background to the proposals - Much has changed over recent years for the better - TFL has taken over the section of line  - LOROL run it on their behalf. There are very strict regulations on standards - eg...graffitti penalties - it's called a concession. Passengers should now be seeing great improvements to cleanliness, efficiency, service level, staffing, more ticket machines, ticket gates at end of 2016 - He asked if anyone would like to get involved with community projects.

Residents then asked questions - particularly related to frequency of trains in the mornings and evenings, overnight trains on Overground are being considered, poor lighting in the station is being addressed over the next 18 months, Concerns over rising fares, platform heights, security gates, multiple entrances, Questions re changes to outside of building, parking and driving, safety of pedestrians - the junction is still dangerous. - road markings, unsafe crossing for children remain an issue.

Sam Russell will enquire from TFL about road improvements and feed back to Ward Cllrs. - LOROL's contract comes to an end in Nov 16 - we will hear in early 2016 who has got contract.

2. Mo Lias spoke about the situation with BSW Depot - The Council have engaged various stakeholders in an effort to determine the level of acceptable residential development on the depot site. The Options have been submitted to the GLA for a decision forthcoming nearer Christmas. Then the architect involved will design the said acceptable scheme and present at a further consultation to members of the community.

There are no certain numbers as of yet to the level of housing units permissible on site – likely to be a number between 50-70 but it is up to the GLA to advise.

Residents asked questions relating to proposed density, timescales, Salisbury House, Traffic issues, Potentially works will start next August - It will be referred to GLA because of the metropolitan open land  - it is an ongoing process. Residents requested that consultations are more comprehensive and wide ranging.

3. Talkies Community Cinema - David Williamson explained the history of Talkies and the areas covered etc. Dugdale Centre, Southgate etc.... The next BHP film to be shown is Honeydripper on 7th November at BHP Bowls Club.
