Ward Councillors Report

Minutes:

1.       Cllr Erbil raised residents’ complaints about the construction of the Ecopark  recycling centre. He has reminded the attendees that consultation meetings will take place on the 14th, 15th, 17th and 22nd of January 2015.

2.       Fly tipping has continued to be a problem in the area. Complaints have increased and the Councillors are looking into solutions to the issue. The council are going to increase frequency of waste collection due to this problem.

3.       Attendees suggested that if the council put skips in ‘hot spot’ waste areas around the borough, the frequency of fly tipping may be decreased.

4.       The Councillors have visited Jubilee crescent and discussed anti-social behaviour with local groups challenging anti-social behaviour. The most common Anti-social behaviour reports were those consisting of prostitution, the congregation of anti-social people, burglaries and street theft. Attendees suggested that employment and local projects for young people will tackle the problem; the councillors and a member of the Neighbour Hood Watch raised the point that such projects have started and are taking place.

5.       The Councillors have pursued the problem of the Edmonton Green roundabout signalisation problem from Bounces Road to Edmonton Green Roundabout . They have raised the issue with the traffic department in the council.

6.       The MP Andy Love has resigned. The Councillors and attendees both agreed to send him a letter of praise for his hard work and dedication towards the area.

Minutes:

Due to the absence of Cllr George Savva (associate cabinet member) this agenda point was skipped.

Met Police Report

Minutes:

Due to the absence of PC Tom Stagg(SJ) this agenda point was skipped.

Lower Edmonton Ward Neighbourhood Watch Reports

Minutes:

A member of the NHW updated the councillors and attendees with information. The Lower Edmonton NHW’s leaflet and newsletter scheme is the largest in the borough. The Councillors pointed out that the most burglaries took place during December during the last couple of years, yet reports suggest that burglaries were reduced by 50% during the December of 2014.

Lower Edmonton Residents Priority Fund

Minutes:

Enfield Residents Priority fund (ERPF) was explained and ideas were given by attendees about this fund.

Lower Edmonton Councillor Surgeries

Minutes:

Surgeries in Lower Edmonton are held by Councillors in the ward four times a month.

1.       First Thursday of every month at Bountagu, 229 Bounces Road, Edmonton, London, N9. 10:00am-12:00pm

2.       Second Thursday of every month at the ARC, 500 Montagu Road, Edmonton, London, N9. 10:00am-12:00pm

3.       Last Thursday of every month at Eldon School Children centre, 3:00pm-4:00pm.

4.       Every Saturday rota basis 10:30am-12:30pm, Edmonton Green Library.

Attendees raised more points, questions and discussion about Ecopark and the frequency and prevention of anti-social behaviour.
