SNT ( Safer Neighbourhood team)

1.       Councillor Needs read out a report received from the SNT due to them being unable to be present due to being tasked with an operation with the Violent Crime Task Force.  The report stated that their top crimes recently had been vandalism, harassment and robbery.  It also stated that the ward – along with London, has seen violent crime increases linked to gang culture.  Turkey St SNT had successfully bid for additional resources to combat this and the ward has had proactive patrols from the gangs unit, Neighbourhood tasking team and council funded safer estates team in addition to the regular patrols of Turkey street SNT’s.  They reported that as expected, that had seen a reduction in the amount of ASB on estates in the ward and led to a number of arrests for robbery, possession of offensive weapons, drugs and drug dealing, breach of court orders, criminal damage and theft offences.
