The Chair welcomed everybody to the meeting.

Report from Turkey Street Neighbourhood Team

Minutes:

Extra resources were bought into Turkey St which resulted in a decrease in crime in the ward. From 108 reported crimes April 2018 down to 87 in August 2018. Bringing the ward down to below the London average for reported crime.

Holly Rd was reported as an area of interest at the moment.  Arrests had been made recently in the area after a recent stabbing.

Residents expressed the view that more needed to be done as local businesses are being affected as well as local residents. Residents were encouraged to report everything they saw that looked suspicious. Number plates and names of people especially.

Longfield Rd drug dealing in the alleyway.

Cherry Rd drug dealing 3 arrests had been made.

Resident complained that you had to do everything on email. Minutes of CAPE to be sent to her as well as minutes of this meeting if she provides her address to one of the councillors.

Report on Healthwatch Enfield Project from Patricia Mecinska

Minutes:

Patricia Mecinska gave an outline of Healthwatch and the work it does monitoring 420 services in Enfield.

She gave out a survey on GP services to be collected at the end of the meeting. Healthwatch contact number is 0208-373-6283

Councillors Report

Minutes:

Update was given on change of local Councillor surgeries. A recent walkabout with senior officers was also highlighted.

Fly tipping and Dumping of Rubbish

a.     Report received from Officers.

 

Minutes:

New bins have been installed on Elsinge Green and residents were urged to report any fly tipping they saw on the Council web site and to contact Councillors if it persists.

Anti-social Behaviour Hoe Lane Open Space

Minutes:

An update was given on the work being done to improve the area and also the difficulties on making the area secure.

Any other business

Minutes:

Dendridge Close

Problems around council contractors and electric meters were outlined and the awful repairs residents had to suffer from Council contractor.

Also people being inconsiderate with dogs mess. Explained, that this can now be placed in the ordinary litter bins. To look into signage for the areas affected by this nuisance.

Holly Rd

Joan Ryan MP had written to the local borough commander and LBE about the increase in crime in this area. Was awaiting a response.

Residents were invited to attend the next CAPE meeting to press their case and discuss possible solutions. A walkabout to be arranged with local Councillors and residents.

Elsinge Rd

Speeding vehicles was becoming a problem. Also parking on the pavement and across resident’s driveways. Phone number for parking enforcement was given to the resident.

Meeting finished at 9pm.
