Under the Primary Expansion Programme, George Spicer Primary School is being enlarged from two to four forms of entry with a new Key Stage 1 building being provided on the Kimberley Gardens site. Originally it was proposed that the new school would open in September 2013 but due to extensive planning conditions, the accommodation is unlikely to be ready for occupation before Summer Term 2014. It will therefore be necessary to base more pupils at the main School site ion Sketty Road in September 2013 than originally planned. A programme of work is proposed to facilitate arrangements for Autumn Term 2013 which will also provide sufficient and suitable accommodation for 480 Key Stage 2 pupils on the Sketty Road site in the long term.
