KD 4108 To Increase Rates Paid for Private Leased Annexes Accommodation Used As Part of the Temporary Accommodation Portfolio.

The council uses Private Leased Annexes as part of our Temporary Accommodation Portfolio to fulfil it's statutory duty to house homeless households. The council are currently losing PLA properties from the portfolio because landlords can obtain better financial returns from other boroughs and through letting properties via nightly paid schemes. This report recommends an increase in PLA rates in order to reduce the loss of PLA properties, maintain the PLA portfolio, and help reduce the use of expensive nightly paid accommodation.
